Offshore Crane Operator - Brasil

POSITION: Crane Operator (English and Portuguese a MUST)

GROUP: Operations

DEPARTMENT: Deck

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Barge Engineer

REVIEWING SUPERVISOR: OIM

POSITION PURPOSE:

• Supervises the roustabout crew and provides all crane services
onboard the rig. Responsible for the Preventive Maintenance Program as
it applies to the equipment assigned to the crane operator and
roustabout crew.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Responsible for the safe and efficient handling of materials and
supplies onboard and during on and offloading.
• Responsible for maintaining the exterior of the hull, main deck,
superstructure and heliport. To keep them clean and in good repair and
free of grease and safety hazards.
• Insure that pre job safety meetings are conducted prior to and
during tour and as otherwise required to maintain safe working
conditions at all times.
• Responsible for inspections, maintenance and operation of the rig
cranes and related equipment.
• Inspect, maintain and keep a complete and up to date inventory of
all slings, chains, ropes, shackles and other hoisting equipment.
• Complete and submit to the OIM, daily crane logs, cargo manifests,
and payroll reports.
• Become knowledgeable of company paint specifications and procedures
• Maintain the paint locker in a clean and orderly fashion and insure
that all combustible materials are properly sealed and stored.
• Train and develop subordinate personnel through continuous on the
job training.
• Perform all duties in a safe manner and in accordance with operating
procedures
• Assist the OIM in recruiting qualified personnel.
• Responsible for correcting and/or reporting any unsafe condition or
act and immediately reporting all accidents and incidents to the OIM.
• Perform additional duties as directed by the OIM.

PREREQUISITES:

• Be fully qualified roustabout
• Be Brazilian national and bi-lingual (Read, write, comprehend and
speak English fluently)
• Be knowledgeable about operational limits of cranes and associated
lifting equipment.
• Have appropriate performance review
• Know company procedures for care and handling of tubulars and
related equipment.
• Be familiar with Oil & Gas industry best practices in lifting and
hoisting.
• Must be a high school graduate
